Attached is a copy of the window sticker on the infamous “ebay” car.  I visited Sunset Porsche today and the car is still on the showroom floor.  Apparently the person who ordered the car has not responded to dealer calls.  This Club Coupe is, therefore, going back to Porsche, to be put back into the PCA raffle.  It is a very nicely equipped car and I am sure someone is going to be thrilled to get it!  I am sure the dealer is not happy!!!

I just updated the summary configurations – now with 22 of 60 cars (including the car to be given away at Rennsport next week).

PDK cars now soundly lead MT cars at 14 to 8.

Its kind of a PITA to update location information, so I’ll do that after there are more cars registered.  Interestingly, according to John Alfenito, 13 (!!) cars are being delivered to owners in California.  I understand that 5 are going to Illinois and all of those are in or around Chicago.

Will be interesting to see the final geographic distribution.  As well as the ratio of PDK to non-PDK cars.

    Stay tuned.

So I had originally requested the model designation on the rear deleted.  Turns out it was rejected.  I think the “Porsche” alone on the back is much cleaner.  I am thinking of removing the “911 Carrera GTS” on the rear when my car finally arrives.  Is this sacrilegious? I figure it is an easy fix if the next owner wants to keep it “all original”.  Regardless, the orange side markers are going to be replaced with the clear LED’s.  Thoughts?

I’m with you on replacing the orange side markers with clear LED versions.  I feel so strongly about it that I nearly took a set to Germany with me.

Definitely not sacrilege to remove the 911 Carrera GTS lettering.  I think I’m going to live with mine as-is, but, as you say, it’s easily reversed.  Seems harmless to me.

I ordered my car with the “911 Carrera GTS” designation deleted in favor of “911” only.

If you order “model delete,” the P O R S C H E  badge is actually placed slightly lower on the deck to compensate for the lack of a sub-badge. Interesting, huh?

Anyway, when my car arrives, my intention is to replace the “911” badge with a simple “GTS” badge (already sitting on my desk)…and the white side-lights are a must, too!

    Leader,

I had no idea that the “Porsche” lettering moved down if the rest was deleted – very interesting.  I had originally ordered option 498 – Deletion of Model Designation, but when I got my confirmed build sheet last week, it was missing.  I am unsure if it got missed or if was actually rejected.  I was informed early on in the process that option CNG – rear fascia painted, was rejected when I requested.  I have gone back and looked through all of the pictures of the delivered CC’s and none of them have model designation deleted.  It will be interesting to see how mine and yours actually arrive.

My build sheet shows “model designation 911” so we’ll see what I actually receive. You’re right, though, no one we know of has taken delivery of a CC with “model delete.” Maybe that’s a no-no for the Club Coupes? But, I haven’t seen one with just “911” on it, either.

Certainly not a deal-breaker for me one way or the other.

I don’t get why they will paint the lower rocker panels, but not the rear fascia. That makes no sense.

Interesting bit of info regarding model delete.  My car had the model delete request.  It was actually on my final build sheet.  When I went to pick up the car, the badges were there!  I am trying to sort through my paperwork to ensure I am not crazy.

You bet – we had a new Rennlister join the ranks today – Mach86 / Frank Hayes.

Sorry to spill the beans, but I understand that there were 20 manual cars built, so PDK wins 2:1.

Hopefully as the final cars are delivered we’ll get more people signed up for the register, but yeah, nearly half way there.

The summary configuration provides a great insight into the different club coupes built, I wonder if we could create a registry containing the individual configurations, built dates and locations of the club coupes?
