Well, Friday is the day the car goes into the body shop to begin it’s journey. Completion is scheduled for 10 July. Should be interesting to follow.

Mike,

You are one lucky gent! My car goes into the body shop on October 9th. I wonder if I am the last car to be made…

My original build date was September. For some reason, they ended up moving the build date up. My dealer has 3 Club Coupes allocated. Coincidentally, one of the other’s is a good friend of mine who lives 5 minutes away. He has the same build date as me.

Hey Mike. Congratulations. You’re in good company; my build starts tomorrow as well. I keep meaning to reach out to Joe’s friend at the factory to see if he can get us some pictures of our batch of cars.

I am one of two CCs coming to our dealer. We both had SEP build dates, but the other gentleman’s slot was miraculously moved-up to JUL. Now, he’ll be the first to get his CC in SEP, which is when mine will just be beginning its build.
Can’t wait to see the first pictures posted as guys get their cars.
For me, t i m e i s c r a w l i n g. 😎

John – you were in the first group selected, right? The process is a bit of a mystery. But thankfully a finite mystery.

Yes, I was contacted on the first day. How the build slots were allotted remains unknowable, apparently.
Speaking of which, does anyone know if the Club Coupes are going TO BE NUMBERED? The first (and only) Club Coupe had no visible number on it when I saw it in April at the California Festival of Speed.

Interesting, now that you mention it, I don’t know. I was thinking that the car number was going to be on the passenger side dash, but I just re-read the PCA and PCNA press releases and they’re both silent about individual numbering. So, likely that I made that up.

Does anyone know if the the ones done for the 50th anniversary were numbered? I would think Porsche would do the same if they were. I am hoping they are.

Josh,

Yep, I know that all were individually numbered. Makes plenty of sense that our cars would be numbered as well, I’m just not sure where.

Took delivery yesterday. Went through some construction zones on the way home and was careful to not get any rock chips. I’m having clear bra put on tomorrow (XPEL). Doing the front bumper, headlights w/washers, full hood, full front fenders, mirrors, leading edge of roof and A pillars, rockers with rear wheel splash protection.

Happy with most options selected. I got the standard radio and it sounds great. I have it off most of the time anyway. The keyless entry is a waste and I would not recommend it. Unlike other cars, there is no button to push. They stick a fob in the ignition switch, which you still have to turn to start. Kind of a joke. I took it out and will use the key. The LED’s are awesome and include an automatic bright/dim function for oncoming traffic. The PDK was the right choice, given this a regular driver in traffic. My track cars are all manual, where I get my “manual fix”. My 997.1 GT3 is almost undrivable when not at the track with the manual in traffic. As an everyday road car, the PDK is the only way to go. 18 way seats are also the only way to go….they are GREAT.

Nice Mike – congratulations! Seems like you got it relatively quickly. When was production completed?

Thanks, John. Production was completed on 9 July and it arrived at the dealer on 5 August. I have been at our Lake House in N. Idaho all summer and just got home on Tuesday night to pick it up. My friend who lives 5 minutes away picks his car up tonight. He is bringing it over so that we can both have the clear bra installed at my house tomorrow. This might be the first time two cars at together. If Mark comes over, that would be THREE.

Well, tomorrow being Friday and all, seems like a good excuse to get all three cars together and have a beer while watching someone put paint protection film on them.

Crazy that, in all of North America, three end up within driving distance from each other.

Great that production end to dealer delivery was so relatively quick. I bet the dealer is bummed that your car is no longer in the showroom.

It seems a little strange that delivery times seem to be very fast in this area, but delayed in others. Not sure how that works. As you may recall, I was in the second round of selection with a build date in September. It was moved up, for which I am grateful.
